Hollywood Studios – World Famous Busts Bill Cosby

If it has been a while since you visited Walt Disney World, then you will be in store for some changes all for the better.  MGM is now called Hollywood Studios, and this is one of my favorite theme parks to visit.  With the addition of the Hall of Fame busts (Bill Cosby pictured here) it really gives us guests a chance to really soak  in the recently re-named theme park and a  chance to move a little away from Walt Disney world and into the movie and Hollywood section of this theme park.

There are many different themes through out the park that highlight the movie industry and famous movies.  Get all of your Walt Disney merchandise online and save money that you will most certainly need for your next trip. Free online quotes on Disney merchandise is one of the things that I can offer you here on the Why Disney blog.

Rides that are a must at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios…

  • The Rock and Roll Roller coaster ( This is a must!)
  • Toy Story Toy Mania (Get the fast pass, lines get up to about 90 minutes plus)
  • Star Wars Star Tours – Newly renovated, and the rides are the not all the same.
  • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
  • American Idle (Lots of fun, but when is laughing at people not fun?)
  • The Great Movie ride – Truly one of my favorites. Visit Aliens, OZ, and more.
  • The Little Mermaid show
  • The Beauty and Beast Live show
  • Fantasmic an incredible lights show with all of the villains, and other characters.
  • The Muppets in 3-D
  • The Tower of Terror (Get ready for quite a drop)

In addition to rides you can expect to get a few shows too.  The High school musicals have really caught on and become a piece of the Disney magic, and people especially young girls really like all of the tunes and the shows are quite entertaining. Get into the Walt Disney World gear and show off your colors and Disney style, do it now and get the items shipped to you just in time for your next trip to the happiest place on Earth.  The Magical Kingdom and the magic of Walt Disney World.

5 Best Rides At Walt Disney’s Blizzard Beach!

During a recent trip to Walt Disney World, I found myself pondering which water park to visit.  My options were Seaworld’s Aquatica, Disney’s Blizzard Beach, or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.

Since I was staying inside Disney World at the Boardwalk resort, I clearly did not want to drive for about 20 or 25 minutes to get to a water park and have to deal with parking, and all of the extra things that you need to do before enjoying a water park.  After all I was on vacation.

I made the best decision for my children and I will explain why.  First of all let me tell you that I was traveling with a 15 year old, a 10 year and an 8 year old.  Now my choices were between Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Aquatica was out!  I ended up picking Blizzard Beach and I will tell you why.  It turned out to be the best decision for all parties involved.

While Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon has the tidal wave pool/beach and that is one incredible time, when those waves depart from the deepest section of the beach pool, the screams that the guest let out sends chills throughout any one’s body, I chose Blizzard Beach.   Here is why…This water park caters to middle aged pre-teen kids more than Typhoon Lagoon.  They have their very own area for kids that can accommodate kids from the ages of 7 to about 13.  They also have a kiddie section that is good for kids 5 and under. In Addition to what I believe are 5 of the best rides at any water park.

Here they are in no specific order of best to worst, just in an order to my liking:

  1. Summit Plummit ( Don’t eat before going down this one)
  2. Family Raft (holds 5 easily)
  3. Kiddie rides and slides for kids under 5.
  4. Pre-teen rides and slides for kids under 14.
  5. Ski Slope lift to the top of Summit Plummit.

A word of advice if you venture to any water parks this Summer.  Make sure that your kids and you are wearing some kind of water shoes, or flip flops to make sure that you do not get any kind of burning to the bottom of your feet. It happened to me and it was no fun at all. A word to the wise, and enjoy all of the best that Walt Disney World has to offer.

Walt Disney World’s – It All Started With A Mouse!

I just concluded one of the best trips to Walt Disney World that my family has ever shared.  A (1) one week stay at the Boardwalk Inn one of my favorite of all the Walt Disney World resorts. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is within walking distance to the Epcot Center, and there is also a ferry boat called the “Friendship” that can take you to Disney’s Epcot Center or Hollywood Studios.

There’s most certainly a wonderful memory waiting for your family at a price that’s right for you, entertainment like you have never shared.  In addition to the Ferry, you can also use their Bus transportation to get anywhere else in Walt Disney’s Magical Kingdom, from the Magic Kingdom itself, to Downtown Disney, to Animal Kingdom and on and on. With over 20 Resort hotels, a variety of themes and room types, and multiple ticket options for everyone from the Florida Resident to the world traveler, there is no reason not to come and enjoy Walt Disney World.

With Walt Disney World you can also enjoy the Disney dining plans. If you work your way around the meals at the park, and make a few reservations here and there you can really experience some fantastic meals at their finest restaurants.  So what will your memory be? If you want to plan your trip today you can check out (3) three vacation options below, or simply visit the Walt Disney World Vacation guide and you can customize your very own trip that will fit your family and your budget, I can tell you that I went prepared and saved plenty of the money that I had earmarked (no pun intended Mickey) for the trip.

Walt Disney World offers flexibility in their lodging, and they offer three different types of priced resorts, but I can tell you that having tried them all, you cannot go wrong with either one.  The rooms for the most part will be used for sleeping and resting, and they all serve that purpose incredibly well, the other amenities get better with each level of resort.  Listed below the three types of lodging and a few restaurants that you can expect to get.

  1. Deluxe: Boardwalk, Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Yacht Club
  2. Moderate: Riverside, Port Orleans, Saratoga Springs. Caribbean Beach Resort
  3. All-Star Sports, All Star Music, Pop Century
